  • CK: Health department should be involved to ensure that all businesses, especially food establishments, are trained, have the right equipment and are audited on performance of sanitisation and cleanliness to ensure the safety of the staff and customers. Businesses cannot afford to be closed due to an outbreak. The costs and stigma attached may force some to close. Having a report posted on your business’ front door with a Green, Yellow or Red will provide customers with the confidence to enter the business. We need to have customers trust that businesses are doing what they need to in keeping them safe, especially for restaurants and lodging
  • COVID: CK Health should set and enforce standards for post COVID operation of businesses to ensure safe conditions for employees and guests.
  • COVID: Subsidize reimbursements for loss of rentals, deposits, pre-bookings
  • CK: Allow “takeout tailgating” events
  • CK: Promote local day tripping
  • CK: Cut red tape for hosting festivals, events, etc.
  • CK: Loosen sidewalk sale permits, patios, etc.
  • CK/EcDev: Create grant to develop/change to curbside pick-up, web, apps, etc..
  • CK/EcDev: Marketing grants/support
  • CK: semi-annual WHMIS training to stay on top of new regs to come
  • CK: buy local concern over Bradley centre… Compass instead of local
  • CK: Remove parking laws near restaurants
  • CK: Survey for industry what people now want (post covid needs)
  • CK/Ontario: Social distancing definition. Re-design of restaurant/store layout to promote distancing
  • CK/Ont/Can: Support beyond recovery for hospitality… relief needed well into the future
  • CK/Ontario/Canada: Subsidies to transition to curbside, web dev/apps.
  • CK/Ont/Can: PPE/training allowance/support
  • CK/Ont/Can: Need solution for moments where an employee has covid… what then? Close for 2 weeks? Costs associated, testing, etc..?
  • Ont: Keep alcohol sales for restaurant takeout/delivery (w/guidelines)
  • Ont/Can: Know ASAP of distancing/restrictions/PPE requirements ASAP
  • Ontario/Canada: Extended Tax deferral may be required to rebound
  • Canada: Promote Take out day (wed) or/and Take Out Tuesday initiatives
  • Canada: Future taxes (2021) a concern
